New project enters comment period: Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority

Landfill gas capture project open for public comment.

Raleigh County gas monitor

The next project up for public comment is the Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority (RCSWA) landfill gas capture project. The RCSWA landfill is a medium sized municipal solid waste facility in Beckley, West Virginia. The current project encompasses 12 capped acres of the landfill and uses ten vertical extraction wells and a series of lateral and header pipes directing the landfill gas to its ultimate destruction in an open flare. The landfill is committed to being an environmental leader in its community. In addition to installing the methane flare they also have a mission to educate their community on “protecting the future, today.”

The official comment period for this project will last 30 days, but of course we’re always open to feedback on our projects at any time.

Please have a look and send any questions or comments to [email protected] by September 9, 2012.
