This badge has expired. GreenSight Technologies has not sponsored a carbon reduction in the current year.

Carbon dioxide emissions, the principal cause of global warming, are an inevitable consequence of energy use. Every time an individual or organization uses electricity for lighting, fuel for transport, etc., additional carbon emissions are released into the atmosphere.

GreenSight Technologies has partnered with TerraPass to sponsor clean energy and carbon reduction projects that result in a verified, measurable reduction in carbon emissions.

About GreenSight Technologies

Founded in 1993, GreenSight Technologies solves the increasingly sensitive problem of what to do with computers and consumer electronics once they have reached the end of their useful life.

GreenSight works with national retailers such as Costco, Sony, TigerDirect, and Staples to offer and operate consumer electronics trade-in and recycling programs for their customers. The goal of the trade-in programs is to facilitate the trade-in and recycling of used consumer electronics that may still contain value or have exceeded their useful life and no longer contain value in today's used consumer electronics market. GreenSight’s programs are designed to help the retailer offer some value for more current consumer electronic products and a safe recycling path for older or defective products. Items that are submitted for trade-in are disassembled and the major components used as spare parts to repair similar consumer electronic products still in service. The remaining components, along with items that are turned in strictly for recycle, are further disassembled and refined for use in the manufacture of new products. In addition to being an environmentally friendly option to retail customers, the programs help GreenSight’s partners deliver a clear corporate environmental message while increasing their in-store and web traffic.

As long time experts in the industry of computer parts sales, GreenSight Technologies has recently expanded its parts fulfillment services to include GreenParts. This innovative concept combines GreenSight’s reputation as a reliable provider of quality primary and sole-source computer parts with a service that helps its own clients offset their carbon footprint at no additional cost to the customer. When purchasing computer parts through GreenSight Technologies, business customers receive a portion of their purchase paid back in the form of carbon offset credits which can in turn be used to offset their own carbon footprint.

GreenSight works with its clients to identify and execute Asset Recovery and remarketing programs designed to return the maximum recovery value for technology assets, while ensuring the highest level of data security and environmental compliance. By deploying specialized sales teams dedicated to the efficient resale of used technology equipment, GreenSight can provide industry leading resale values in a rapid order. In many instances, GreenSight will even pay its customers up front for technology assets earmarked for asset recovery. In all cases, customers receive Certificates of Disposal certifying that all technology equipment was remarketing or disposed in an EPA-compliant manner. In addition to recycling used electronic products, GreenSight offers the most advanced methods for sanitizing data from, or completely destroying, PC desktop, laptop and server hard drives.

GreenSight Technologies’ own internal sustainability initiatives:

  • Public Transportation Assistance/Carpooling - GreenSight Technologies is a participant in the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s Tri-Rail Employer Discount Program. This program was designed to motivate South Florida’s employers to offer a public transportation benefit to its employees. By participating in this program, GreenSight is able to offer its employees deep discounted rates on public transportation via the Tri-Rail train system to encourage the usage of public transportation. This helps reduce its carbon footprint and saves the employee the high expense of fuel costs.

  • Paper Consumption - currently all marketing and promotional materials, including all business cards and brochures are printed on 100% recycled and 100% post consumer waste paper products that are processed with chlorine-free paper. Where possible, GreenSight strives to operate in a paperless environment through the use of PDF technology and other portable document formats.

  • Recycling - recycling bins for both paper and aluminum cans in all building areas throughout our office locations.

  • In 2008, GreenSight Technologies made decision to work towards becoming completely carbon-neutral by purchasing carbon offset credits through TerraPass.
