TerraPass is pleased to welcome our newest Carbon Balanced Business partner, Diabetes Care Club. Diabetes Care Club has balanced out the CO2 emissions resulting from their on-site energy use, server energy use and business travel.
Diabetes Care Club is America’s fastest-growing supplier of diabetic testing supplies, with thousands of new members joining every month. They offer a complete selection of everything diabetics require — including meters, batteries, control solution, test strips, lancets and lancing devices — all with free home delivery. Diabetes Care Club is located in Nashville, TN and serves patients in all 50 states, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. They’re an authorized distributor of all name-brand testing supplies.
In addition to purchasing carbon offsets through TerraPass, Diabetes Care Club has implemented other environmental initiatives. They recycle all paper, plastic and cans, as well as all of the packaging materials in their warehouse. They use automation to reduce the electricity use during non-business hours. Beyond their own operations, they review the materials and manufacturing processes of their suppliers.
Diabetes Care Club’s CEO Doug Hudson explains why he decided to become a Carbon Balanced Business: “The two main reasons why I chose to purchase offsets are Sarah Beth and Emily Hudson. I want to do the right things to leave the world a better place for my two young daughters.”
