Everyone at CatPrint.com is concerned about the environment. CatPrint.com began in the owner's basement in 2004, and from day one we wanted to run an environmentally committed short run printing company. Initially we purchased domestic use wind power credits from our home energy company. TerraPass has allowed us to easily expand our offset program to encompass our entire carbon footprint. One thing that helps us is that we are very focused on getting waste out of our processes, so not only do our greeting cards, business cards, posters and flyers arrive to our customer's quickly and inexpensively, they also have a much a lower carbon footprint than a traditional printer.
When we relocated CatPrint in 2006 we looked for an existing light industrial space that would be within a 10 minute drive of all our current employees. This helps lower our carbon footprint, and makes for happier employee's. We also encourage where practical telecommuting. Our systems are all accessible online, so our team leads can all check on work status, even setup production runs, without leaving home!
From our customers perspective working with CatPrint means that they do not have to make the usual two or even three trips to the printer to submit orders and review proofs, so there is another carbon saving. Still we realize that it takes electricity to power all those desk top computers, so as part of our commitment CatPrint actually has purchased an excess of carbon credits, so that we can help offset our customers electric use for the typical CatPrint order.
CatPrint.com has also purchased 60 megawatt-hours of Green-e Energy Certified RECs.
CatPrint.com offers Short Run Digital Printing Carbon Balanced By TerraPass.
