This is a big day for us here at TerraPass — we’re unveiling our 2009 carbon offset project portfolio.

These are the projects that we support with the proceeds from carbon offset sales on our site and through our partners. The TerraPass Carbon Management Services team will almost certainly add more to the 2009 portfolio as we go, but for now we invite you to take a browse through the list - this year we’ll be supporting project types including agricultural methane reduction and clean energy production, landfill gas capture and clean energy production, and wind power. You can also read the official press release (pdf) if you like.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has purchased our carbon offsets in the past, and to point out that if you continue scrolling down the page from the 2009 portfolio, you’ll see the full list of all projects we (well, you) have supported over time. As a reminder, these are all independently verified against broadly accepted third party standards, such as the latest version of the Voluntary Carbon Standard (issued in late 2007) and the Climate Action Reserve (CCAR).

As always, thanks for your ongoing support. It’s great to know that even in times of economic uncertainty there are so many people willing to step up and take action against climate change.
