TerraPass offset transparency wins #1 spotGreenopia says our transparency is unmatched
TerraPass is one of the only offset providers to work directly with its offset projects. This means that the offsets we sell to individuals and businesses haven’t been sourced through a third-party, but from farms and landfill owners with whom we work directly. We do this because we find it’s the only way we can ensure quality: we know the reductions are genuine because we’ve seen the meters measuring them for ourselves. It also provides our customers with an unmatched window into the places their money goes. You can dive into the projects section of the TerraPass website and see where each of our projects is situated, comment on new projects we’re considering for the portfolio and review past projects, including the exact amount of carbon reductions at each one. This is hard work, so it’s rewarding to see it pay off every now and again. We’re grateful to Greenopia for a thoughtful and thorough examination of offset companies and pleased to see them rank TerraPass as the best. On our transparency, Greenopia said:

I do appreciate this aspect as well, and am happy to say last week I renewed my family's home and auto Terrapasses for another year.
I've read some of the project specs and even offered comments a couple times... I especially appreciate the need to avoid double counting of emissions credits. That is why if I ever install PV on my roof, I will NOT be marketing the carbon credits. I want them for my own household...
Thanks for making the strong commitment to quality which enables customers like me to trust that our money is going for real added new good work in carbon footprint lowering. After all my household does to lower our carbon footprint, offsets are still a necessary part of solving the climate crisis, in my opinion. Until and unless there is a global carbon pricing system that has ratcheted emissions to the levels that are needed to fully stabilize the climate (350 ppm?). Offsets are all we have right now as part of such a market.
Be the change you seek... That's why I support Terrapass.
