Bad luck, 09/06/2008

Unfortunately I got a lemon. It never worked. Terrapass made it real easy for me to return and exchange, but when they received my package the product was not inside the envelope. I am out of luck.Oh well...

Needs backlight , slimmer, 11/07/2008
Reviewer: Susan Risner (Pataskala, Ohio)

I love this item & have had fun showing others how it works, too. It has a large variety of info to review & it's easy to program. The reading after restting is instantaneous.

Here's the problems: It's difficult to have enough light to read it when plugged into a verticle wall. A backlight would remedy this. Also, it could be more useful if it was slimmer & lighter. It sometimes requires the adjacent outlet to be unplugged & it slips out of the outlet when the ground fault interrupter (for the 3rd prong) is on the bottom.

Great Product, 08/26/2008

Our electric bills were staggering and this meter gave us an idea of which of our electrical devices are the big energy hogs. We've learned that our electric oven was a big consumer and stopped using it to reheat small portions of food. A toaster oven or microwave was much better. It's a great device for us to learn how to use our household products more efficiently. Thanks

This is more question than review. I currently own another older product (WattsUp) which does these functions. Where it falters is in not reading very low power values. e.g. a small power brick or timer which gets noticeably warm but will read 0 Watts.
My question - Is KillaWatt effective at these low power levels? - Anybody?

Thanks - Mike

Happy with Kill A Watt EZ, 06/19/2008
Reviewer: Tobin Fried (Durham, NC)

This product functions as promised. It has been helpful to me in showing people in the office why we need to turn off computers at night. I originally received the wrong Kill A Watt (not EZ) from TerraPass, but they were great about the return (even though I had opened it) and getting me the correct product. I would purchase from them again because the customer service was very good.

My family and friends think it's great too.

I wish it had the ability to store data for different appliances and the ability to export the data to my laptop.

Kill A Watt EZ, 06/03/2008
Reviewer: Anthony Hroncich (Olympi, Wash.)

The Kill A Watt works as advertised.
I am happy with the product. The only problem I have had, is the face plate fell off, which indicates button operations. I used hot glue, it diden't take. I will try another glue.

I wanted to find out why my electric bill has gone up 15% over the past year, so far I found out that my tiny frig is $10 a month and unplugging my tvs, microwave, toaster, breadmaker saves me over $10 a month!!!
