We've been using TED for almost 6 months and have lowered our electric bill. Just seeing our electric use in real time, prompts shouts down the hall "what's running?". We are really much more aware now of everything that uses electricity, and we tweak and trim down the usage little by little. The savings are considerable, and actually fun to watch. A great unit, easy to install.
Finally an energy monitor that really works, 02/23/2009

As "early adopters," we've tried several other energy monitor units. Nothing comes close to this. It was very easy to clip the monitor probes onto each leg of our service line. These attach to a small transmitter which feeds the data to a digital monitor in our office. We're already thinking of electric use in terms of dollars, which make it MUCH easier to remember to turn things off. The two things to watch when setting up: you need to set a "unit code" specific to your unit, and you need to be sure that the transmitter power connection is on the same phase or leg of the circuit you have the digital readout plugged in to. We look forward to exploring the data output of the unit and integrating it into our master plan for energy reduction.
